Dear Neighbors and friends,

I want to let you know that your neighborhood association continues to work hard on your behalf in the areas of neighborhood improvement and public safety. Although we have two new initiatives currently underway, we still need your help to be additional eyes and ears of Briarwood.

The first initiative is our continued special neighborhood enforcement project with the Dallas Police Department.  Officers from the northeast patrol station are addressing our public safety and quality of life concerns by stepping up patrols in Briarwood and enforcing all moving, traffic, and outstanding warrants within the boundaries of our community.  Therefore, be on notice to watch your speed, stop at all traffic lights and stop signs, maintain a current registration on your vehicle, park 15 feet from fire hydrants, park your vehicle in the correct direction of traffic, do not block sidewalks with your vehicles, and take care of any outstanding warrants you may have.  DPD is strongly enforcing these laws with the complete support of your neighborhood association. 

The second initiative that is being conducted is with Dallas Code Compliance.  Our inspectors have been working in the area educating homeowners about issues relating to their property.  All homeowners should know to not to put bulk trash out too early, to remove any litter, including old newspapers, from their property daily, not to park their vehicles on unapproved surfaces (e.g.; grass), remove any graffiti from their property immediately, not to store large items on your front porch or side of house, and mow your grass during the growing season. 

I hope we can continue to count on your support as we make progress in restoring our community. I also ask that each of you do your part to assist us by calling 911 when you see anything suspicious and 311 to report pot holes or street lamps that are out. Let’s keep up the good work and be kind to one another as we coexist as friends and neighbors.
